Garry T. Perret has been part of Gasaway Gasaway Bankston for more than four years, bringing a wealth of experience and a hands-on approach to every project. A 1992 graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Architecture, Garry has always been drawn to understanding how things are built and made. His design philosophy emphasizes the use of natural materials in ways that are simple, practical, and enduring.
Throughout his career, Garry has contributed to projects that hold special meaning for him, including St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Utah, St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, and the Live Oak Junior High School Gym. Among his most challenging yet rewarding experiences was the Roosevelt Hotel Katrina Restoration, a complex, two-and-a-half-year endeavor that required patience, precision, and perseverance.
Beyond architecture, Garry enjoys farm gardening, husbandry, and target shooting, and he proudly marches each year with the Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Club. He is also a former member of the North American Timber Framers Guild and served six years with the Louisiana Air National Guard, 159th Tactical Fighter Group, where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and worked as an F-15 Crew Chief.
Deeply influenced by his parents, Garry continues to carry forward the values of hard work and creativity they instilled in him. Looking ahead, one of his bucket-list dreams is to travel across the United States to explore its historic sites.
