Abby Brannon

Intern Architect

Abby Brannon joined Gasaway Gasaway Bankston in May 2025, bringing a fresh perspective and a whole lot of passion for design. Her love for architecture started early, tagging along with her dad on residential job sites and later discovering her knack for drafting in high school. From there, she was hooked.

She earned both her B.S. in Architectural Studies and Master of Architecture from UL Lafayette, where she studied abroad in Florence, Italy and even interned in Dallas, TX. Abby’s approach to design is rooted in the belief that architecture shapes every aspect of how we live, work, and connect, so her focus is always on creating spaces that not only function but also make people feel something.

One of her proudest achievements is her graduate thesis, “Architecture of Stillness: an Inclusive Space for Individual Pace and Interconnection.” The project reimagined a Chicago transit hub as both a connective space and a refuge for creativity and community. Her most challenging (but rewarding) project? A first-year assignment to map Madonna’s “Vogue” into 3D form, an exercise that forced her to flex her creativity and even earned her a design award.

Outside the office, Abby is endlessly creative. She paints, gardens (and sketches out her plant arrangements like mini design projects), and has recently taken up embroidery, making one-of-a-kind gifts for friends. She also loves spontaneous adventures: hopping on random flights, trying new restaurants, or sweating it out in a Pilates class.

Abby credits her older sister, Allbrie, as her biggest influence and is inspired by her two favorite mottos: “Your comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there,” and “The purpose of life, after all, is to live it to the fullest.” On her bucket list? Visiting Monet’s Garden in Giverny for a painting lesson. And here’s a little-known fact, she can sing the French National Anthem… en français!
